Happy St George’s day!

Whatever the truth, whatever the myth, St George is closely associated with slaying dragons.
And we all have our dragons and demons; dragons and demons that can be particularly fierce, and nasty, in turbulent, challenging times.

A survey in Iowa once recorded that in one day of all the statements made to 5-year olds in an average day, 432 were negative and just 32 were positive (a ratio of 14:1).

There’s no doubt that each individual person has thousands of thoughts every day, and most of them are negative!

I hear a lot of people say things like, “I’m a positive person, but…”
or “I try to stay positive, but…”
It’s very rare to hear someone admit to being negative, isn’t it?!

Isn’t it time to slay the dragon in your head?
Yes, that Sub-Cranium Demon. The one who pops up and says, “You can’t do that” or “That’ll never work” or “You have never been any good at that”.
Because that negativity is not just about attitude. It’s deeper than that. It dwells in the deepest recesses of the mind. It’s the scourge of our goals, our businesses, our careers, our lives.

So how can we change this natural tendency for negative thoughts?
Saying, “Oh, I’m going to be more positive from now on” just won’t work, because that is at the surface conscious level, and the dragon can slip away to its lair and then jump out when least expected (and least wanted) and breathe fire and scorn to abort your most important plans even before they are hatched.

To slay the dragon, you need to activate your Inner Champion… that knight in shining armour, your personal paladin, brandishing the dragon-slayer sword. At first, you’ll need to train your mind to know when to activate the champion by noticing when your dragon has appeared. After a while, the Inner Champion can be triggered with a click of the fingers and an imaginary whooshing sound as he leaps into action.
The images we create in our mind reflect like a wave through our lives, so why not trigger great ones.
Give it a try!
