Being a Great Finisher

One of the most sought-after qualities in sport is the ability to ‘finish’.
And it’s the same in business, and in many other parts of life.

The ability to finish is a talent … that 1 percent person who makes sure something really happens, to completion, is a rare commodity.

The ability to finish is rare, and yet it is a key to success. It prevents wasted work, wasted energy, wasted effort, wasted time and wasted money. It helps to overcome having thousands of half-finished projects, or projects that reach 80 percent completion but never see the light of day.

And here’s the good news… Finishing is a Habit.

Like all habits, Finishing can be learned. It’s an invaluable skill. And once you get into that habit, you’ll be amazed what you achieve … and how you feel about being so productive and effective.

Many people come to me who are struggling because they are overwhelmed by having so many unfinished projects around. As part of The Olympic Challenge which I run with my clients (a 28 day programme around changing specific habits), I often suggest ‘daily finishing’ to be one of the new habits participants build. And this month one of the Olympic challengers has included this… the habit of ‘Finishing one overhanging project or task’ every day.

It doesn’t just have to be about business either. It could be around the home, in relation to personal life, anything really. It’s about creating the Finishing Mindset, and acting accordingly, habitually.

So why not “go to finishing school” for 28 days, learn how to be a finisher, and enjoy the extra results and success that brings.
